Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian German film and TV actress famous for her performance in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. She was the sole daughter of Romanian acting star Valentin Platareanu Alexandra, she entered the show business at an early age and was acting in lead roles on various TV dramas before she turned 16. Following her highly praised role in the TV film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went further to take on other memorable role like Adolf's secretary, Traudljunge, on Downfall. The film received nominations for an Oscar and garnered critical praise. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are the other Oscar nominated films that feature women. Alexandra worked on several notable national and international projects over the years. The most notable of these include British biographical film Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time as well as the French historic mini-series Napoleon among others. The actress was also a member of the jury for the Transylvania International Film Festival, and was also a juror at Cannes Film Festival.
